a whole new level of exasperation

"i'm glad that you understand my 'desperation'. or rather 'exasperation'!"

recently i was talking to my oldest school friend. amidst our various topics of the good ole school days, annoying colleagues and mutual friends, we found ourself on the subject of matchmaking agencies.

i admitted that i've reached the stage where i'm not eliminating any mediums so to speak. sad but probably true. we talked bout the possibility of joining this particular matchmaking agency. it's the cheapest in the market though it comes attached with a long-time stigma. but it's 'just for the activities'.

then my oldest school friend remembered something that our mutual ex classmate told her. she had tried to join the activities and was straight up told in disbelief that "you're quite pretty, why don't you have a boyfriend? are you very picky?"

it's one 'problem' to be 26 and very single enough to consider matchmaking agencies but there's definitely a bigger problem if the matchmaking agency starts turning you away 'coz you're 'too pretty'.

did they really turn her away for being too pretty? Why is being beautiful & single a stigma anyway? Ugh

Hahaha omg, thats awful! That the problem - if you are DDG, smart, funny with a great personlity ppl just assume that guyz are standing in line outside your bedroom window.

But the truth is it kinda complicates things. Cuz then you want a guy who you’ll connect with – physically, mentally & spiritually. Just cuz you know what you want doesn’t make you picky, it just makes you a woman on a mission ;)

Happy Hunting!

Years ago, I had this friend, and this friend went for one of those interviews at the matchmaking agencies, and he came away feeling like he was a loser because he didn't go out as often as the matchmaking agency thought he should have been.

'Pretty' 'Single' girls beg the question: "what's wrong with you??"

I've actually have girls tell me that that can't be my friend because i'm "too pretty". People are nuts.
