the online friend

in this modern day and age, meeting online friends is becoming increasingly common. but no matter how much time you've spent chatting and emailing online, the first face to face meeting is always a lil scary. you're never quite sure what to expect. what if you guys don't hit it off as well as when you're hiding behind your computers?

so far i've had the opportunity to meet a few online friends both guys and girls. and thankfully it's all gone really well. i would love to meet even more of my online friends 'coz i truly get along so well with some of 'em.

over the weekend i had a rather different online friend encounter. i have this online good friend who i've been chatting with for over a year but never met. well her friend is visiting in my area for a month and she suggested that i meet him. in fact he very generously invited me out with him and his friends. so a bunch of us had sushi dinner and then just hung out in his room watching a movie. it seemed like a gathering of the united nations what with representatives from england, switzerland, korea, sweden, germany, brunei and singapore. i had a lot of fun and was entirely comfy despite not knowing any of 'em at all. it also tickled me a lil to get to know and see my friend's friend face to face despite not having seen her face to face before. i definitely wouldn't mind hanging out with him again before he leaves. so i guess now he's become my online friend?
