the eventual 'date'

yesterday i met up with the ad-man for dinner. he's the guy i winked at via the online dating site and who i was chatting regularly on IM with for bout a month before he finally asked me out. he was born here but bred somewhere in canada and he is a partner in an advertising agency where he runs the branch office here.

it was amazing that i had no problems whatsoever recognising him. even when he was seated on a bench and bent over his blackberry. at first he seemed pretty shy... almost as though he didn't quite dare to look at me. but after the slight initial awkwardness, we got along as fabulously as we do online. it seemed like we never quite ran out of things to talk bout. some of it was just inane joking around and other topics were more deep and meaningful. i found myself very comfy with him and able to share more than perhaps i might normally have.

we do seem pretty similar in some ways... our values and the way we think. it's always nice to meet someone who shares my slightly different thinking. and i liked that he also presented a logical reasoning that made me rethink my own jadedness from past guys. this is someone who doesn't mind loving someone else more than being loved in return just 'coz that's the way he is. and no amount of being hurt in the past is going to change that. i find myself admiring that.

i can imagine him as someone that my parents will condone. i mean he's a preacher's kid. my parents would be sold on that haha! and he's also someone i could like... 'coz how many preacher's kids have sound beliefs and yet parties, drinks and swears? plus he's eloquent (which is a trait i love) and hilarious. and i find him attractive (even though he does look a wee bit gay... he admits that he gets a lot of attention from gay men) which is also important.

i really had a great time. we just got along well. and i finally saw something that i hadn't seen in a really long while... true possibility.

now i just need to see if this will go anywhere...

I think guys who look a wee bit gay are probably a lil bit gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
